Good afternoon. I was wondering if a tranquilizer dart is potentially dangerous to a human. I noticed your web-site has information on what darts are appropriate for what living things, but I don't see a human listed. Are the darts only made for animals? Would there be any side effects if a human was take a dart? Would I be better off using a stun gun or tazer in order to protect myself from robbers?

yes, you would be better or using a stun gun or tazer for protection. The reason the darts are not that effective on humans is that you have to know the size and weight of a potential attacker in order to ensure that dosage is proper.

In regards to the potency of the tranq dart, what are the danger of tagging a 150lb human with a dart designed to take down a wild boar?

You could possible run the risk of killing or cardiac arrest. Solutions designed to tranq animals would work very differently on humans.

Wow, OK, we definitely wouldn't want that. After examining your business of tranquilizer dart personal protection I have decided that I cannot purchase a tranq gun or dart for protection. I guess I'll just stick with my fists or maybe a low-level tazer of some type. Thank you so much for your feedback, I really appreciate your time.
I wish I could talk more, but I have to take my son Tyler to his ice hockey game. The coach has been benching him, but I am pretty sure he'll be on the ice tonight, because they are playing the Stars, and they aren't very good this year. Most of their kids are freshmen or sophmores. We'll see how it goes....have a great weekend friend.
